Susanna Haas-Lyons
As a Program Associate, Susanna plays a role in planning and implementing AmericaSpeaks' 21st Century Town Meeting® projects. Susanna has served as project manager for the Voices and Choices Regional Town Meeting II. She has also served as Theme Team Captain for the Cincinnati and Los Angeles meetings of the Citizens’ Health Care Working Group and for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Town Meeting.
Susanna is deeply committed to fostering opportunities for citizens to engage with each other and with decision-makers in order to influence policy and governance. She served as Project Coordinator with the Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform, a historic democratic process recently conducted in British Columbia, Canada. In her work, Susanna continues to support citizen conversations that directly impact public decisions. A Vancouverite and graduate of Simon Fraser University's communication program, Susanna was a participant of the school's inaugural undergraduate Semester in Dialogue. Susanna was a 2005/06 Action Canada Fellow.
Susanna also volunteers with youth and community members to organize interfaith environmental events. She lives in Washington, DC.
