Mattice Haynes-Amusa
Mattice Haynes-Amusa is a new Associate of AmericaSpeaks. Over the past 18 months she has served in town meeting roles which include Area Facilitator for Shaping America’s Youth (Dallas), American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME Chicago) and the Citizen’s Health Care Working Group (Little Rock). This year Mattice also served as Assistant Producer for Shaping America’s Youth town meetings in both Chicago and Iowa. Her most ambitious roles include serving as the Atlanta Site Manager for Community Congresses II & III which focused on recovery planning for New Orleans and most recently as the Sacramento Site Manager for CaliforniaSpeaks where over 3,500 Californians discussed statewide healthcare reform.
Mattice is the former Executive Director of Community Partnership, Inc. and Director of the United Way of Central Georgia’s Community Resource Center both in Macon, GA. For nearly ten years, Mattice has provided services to nonprofit and community-based organizations. Her work in communities includes community mobilization and advocacy, strategic planning, facilitation, training, project and event management services. This year Mattice has worked with the Georgia Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities, the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
She has served on many nonprofit Boards and participated in many leadership development programs. Mattice earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Dekalb College (currently Georgia Perimeter College) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
